Project Video!

So the project is finally oooooover! It ended like 3 hours ago and we feel so much more relieved. Now I can move on to other dreaded dastardly assignments. So the event was fun and really exciting. We didn't even get to test out the thing so we were unable to guarantee that the thing is gonna hold up the whole weight of the brick. Every group was there to test out their structure and some looked awesome. They were really really good and also managed to support the full weight of two bricks.

- these are just some of the structures (our was the one in the middle).

Oh, and here's the video of the ordeal. Just had to show you guys how the assignment testing went. The whole time my heart was pounding, palms sweating, goosebumps, the whole package that comes with the feeling of your grades depending solely on the structure, whether or not it can hold up the freakin' brick or would it crumble beneath its load.

Homework

Hey, I've been busy again this week and the last. And it's gonna get hectic with a capital 'H' as the finals are only about a month away. Okay...they just torned off all the lights in the library except for my cubicle...hmm...this is scary.

Anyway, here' a little peek at what i've been up to for my Building Construction assignment 2. The task: construct a form of surface construction from paper which is to be perched on pencil sized columns and able to hold up a brick. Sucks...i KNOW!

- just a peek.

Tomorrow's the day when we will be testing it out, so, wish us luck!

Random Update

So here's an illustrated post of what i've been basically up to in the past weeks.

- Boon Yong came over coz he transferred from KDU Penang to Taylors college and in the campus i'm in! Isn't that cool?! But the sad thing is I have to see his sorry face for the rest of my academic life here. Kidding...no seriously, i'm kidding. So since he didn't really have a place to stay, I gave him the thumbs up for him to crash over at my place. That was like two weeks ago and he only stayed a week before he moved out which was last Thursday. But the good news is we're in the same college and staying in the same flats. So we still have lunches and dinners together.

Interior Behavioral Studies site visits:

- This was taken during our first site visit to pavilion. I swear this was just a random shot as compared to...

- ...this one. FatJo's looking posh there in front of a Hermes store.

- Our second site visit took us to Lightcraft where we were given a pretty detailed explanation on the different types of luminaries and lighting systems.

- Apparently this one i'm examining was featured in Ugly Betty.

- But we found out that lamps can do more than just illuminate.

- This is a group photo we REALLY like in front of a bunch of chandeliers.

- The last site visit we went to was to the church of our lady of Guadelupe in Puchong. A very interesting church which does not comform to the other typical church styles.

- Even the roofs are quite a sight.

- Just a week ago, I met up with Kelly and Khang May, when she came down to KL. We spent a great time just eating, walking and talking in KLCC. I thought it was way too short. Wish we had more time. but no worries, i'm gonna meet up with her again before she leaves for India.

- And lastly, last weekend, we headed down to Putrajaya! That's some funky bridge.

- I went there with my sister and our cousin Jo who's out from Australia.

- Our Hero-esque pose made even better by the ominous clouds.

That's it for now. I'm heading back to Penang tonight for the weekend so i'll probably only start posting again next week. More to come!

Greelections

I don't really care about the elections coz firstly, i'm underaged and thus unable to vote and secondly, I don't know what on earth is happening. I mean I don't even know what DAP and PAS stands for! So, I prefer to wave at the elections as they go by. I've been listening to alot of comments regarding Penang now being under the opposition but frankly, I don't know what that means and what's gonna happen. I'm clueless...

BUT I am certain on one thing about the elections. It's the amount of trash produced everytime from the on going campaigns they use to promote themselves. They print their slogans and faces of the contending politicians on PLASTIC banners and string them all over town. On the walls, on the lamp posts, on the telephone poles and on just about anywhere they could find to display them. They even STAPLE THE BLOODY THING ON THE TREE!!! I am so standing up for tree rights for the next elections.

In addition to the merciless tree mangling, the plastic banners which are probably NON-BIODEGRADABLE will cause pollution! They are a waste of resources AND they get ruined in such a short period of time. ALSO do you even notice the amounts of the banner they put up in some places! It's madness!!! Come on people, it's 2008! It's time to go green! If you can't start with small things like printing banners and posters economically, how are you expected to progress? It's such a waste of time and money to print the posters which are clearly in excess.
