Up somewhere
Again, going on a site visit to unprecedented places. This time we took one of those construction elevators up. You know, those outdoor exposed ones where you have to manually operate the door. I had no idea how high we were after climbing rail-less staircases, walking along dusty unlit hallways and traipsing through brick and cement strewn floors.
By the way, those safety boots I got really came in handy this semester. I don't regret them one bit.
Stay tuned for more.

Dad's Tie
Sometime during Chinese New Year when I was back home in Penang, I ravaged through my sister's stash of old stuff that we salvaged, and managed to get hold of a striped tie.
I like things which have a story to it. This tie belonged to my dad and he probably wore it back sometime in the 70s or 80s or something. I'm not completely certain. But what I'm most surprised about is its proportion. It's narrow without being too skinny and the length is just right as the point of the tie is supposed to hit right at your belt line.
I guess you can call it a vintage tie but it still looks as good in this modern context while giving off a tinge of retro feel. With that tie, I decided to let the rest of my clothes take a back seat and played them down to basics.
I also got another tie which I hope to wear in the future. Definitely not soon since the weather here is fucking insane. It's so hot I can feel the sun burning my skin. It's so hot that I'm bathed in sweat everytime I get home from class. It's. So. Hot. That my flesh is about to melt off my bones when I step outside during mid-day.
Stay tuned for more.

Listen to This
A song which brings back that 70's funk and incorporating it with modern disco. With an upbeat tune and a very catchy hook, this tune is like a glossy piece of candy with a chewy center. Go baby, go baby GO!

Update
My weekends aren't weekends anymore. The times when I use to spend them taking it easy at home or hanging out in KL city or a mall has been abruptly replaced by hours and hours pouring over the computer screen and pages of architecture books working on on-going projects which seem to never end. Yes, I may be stressed and lethargic from the physically and mentally taxing projects, but the upside to it is that I spend less on shopping. Which is especially important now that we're already halfway through March and inching closer to the end of my embargo.
Instead, i'm spending a lot on food. But of course, it is no sit-down course meals or anything remotely like that. Lately, my meals have been condensed into 10 minute quickies trying to shove down greasy fried food from fast food chains, interspersed with Photoshop-ing.
This lifestyle is so not healthy. And a bowl of salad won't fix anything. It's not that easy. But maybe a tub of ice-cream will :)
