Halloweeny Thursday

Tomorrow's Halloween and since most of the students in our course do not have classes, a message was circulated amongst the Architecture students to put on our Halloween costumes today instead. Classes went on as usual today except for the fact that the lecturer was teaching in front of an audience consisting frankensteins, witches, mafia members and a whole group of the undead.

Distraction is not really good for classes now, is it? Oh well, it's just a one day thing :)

- A priest (who moonlights as an exorcist), a zombie and an architectural student who slashed his hand open while trying to do models.

It was a fun day alright. But I found it difficult to keep up the I-am-holier-than-thou act. And it was fun going around saying 'Bless you my child.' And of course there was the occasional exorcism of the undead. Ahh...all in a day's work!

On a seperate note, I have my FIRST FOLLOWER!

The truth hurts.

It's not like I didn't see it coming,
it was as though I saw it in slow motion.
The bitterness slowly boiling over.
Washing us over with animosity.

It's not like I didn't see it coming,
We instigated things and we let it unfold.
Leaving with each other untreated wounds.
Pained even more when the truth be known.

It's true, the truth hurts.

In those shadows of hurt, we show our true selves.
We apologise and we forgive.
We learn our lesson and move on.
Hard it maybe, we try to forget.

When all is said and done,
hopefully we grow stronger and closer.
We've dealt with it and that's a start.
Deep inside we're still friends at heart.

Here's to us, we've made it this far.

Shop

Yesterday I headed into KL city for some shopping with Ivan. I guess the best thing about going out in smaller groups is that it's easier to decide which shops to head to and another is that we walk at about the same pace. I kinda find it difficult to walk slowly and linger while shopping, sure I take my time while being INSIDE the shop but when going from one shop to another I tend to walk at a faster pace.

We hit three malls yesterday on foot. All the way from pavilion to Suria KLCC. It's not that far, it only took us a brisk walk to and fro. Our main intention was, of course, to do some shopping. If my mum and sister were to read this post, i'd bet they'd be gasping and their heart rates would have increased from reading the last sentence. But please, read on.

Anyways, I went into all my favourite shops sifting through clothes racks on end. From AG to Zara. If you're wondering why I was out shopping when i've been consistently ranting about the avalanche of work, it's because I merely needed a break and hey...it's Saturday! Plus, Monday's Deepavali.

I ended up not buying anything with the exception of a magazine from Kinokuniya. We were both not really in a shopping mood as Chinese New Year was still a far reach and i've got no upcoming special occasions that would demand a fresh new set of clothes. And above all else, it just wasn't the sales period which would normally get everyone (me included) in the mood to shop. So, while me not buying any article of clothing may be (a)typical, i'm still elated that i've saved my money for other things or when the sales return in full force. Ahh...mother would be so proud (and perhaps wipe that bead of sweat that was forming at her temple).

PS: Happy Birthday Jhei Mie!

Work

Studio has kept me busy this past week. I've been working on sketches, technical drawings and trying to come out with a decent plan befitting the theme of the assignment which would more or less meet the expectations of the lecturers whose opinions happen to differ greatly amongst themselves. So, I guess it's a challenge that I must take on.

My other assignments include two reports and another presentation which are all due in two weeks. And the hand-in dates are one after another which means another round of hellaciously busy week to come. Just the past week i've had two almost sleepless nights trying to complete the Studio work. On Sunday I finished my assignment at the college studio at 2:30am, drove back home, slept for 2 hours and drove back to college to do some finishing touches on it before pin-up. And just two days ago, I only slept for 4 hours. Yes, although it's torture, deep deep deep down, I find it interesting and quite exciting.

Although i've been so hectic, i'm still finding time to spend some leisure time. Watching Mythbusters on TV is almost routine. I take it as a one hour break while having a snack. And also there is time I spend with my friends in college, dinner with other friends, shopping and grocery-shopping.

Plus, my results for my mid-terms are out and i'm happy that I did fairly overall. So, I hope this is a good sign which indicates that i've sorta struck a balance between work and play.

Short 'Hiatus'.

There will be little if no posts in the coming few weeks. That's because i've been bombarded with countless assignments which require detailed and meticulous execution of the work. The tasks are here and will be collectively due in the week before my study break. Things are once again speeding up as the finals approach.

But it's not really the finals i'm anxious about. It's the assignments as they are the ones which carry most of the marks load. So, they are the ones which i'm freakin' worried about. Panic only merely describes how I feel right now.

So wish me luck as I charge forth and attempt this daunting task ahead.

Raya Week Pt.2

Headed over to Sophia's place yesterday for her Raya Open House. To sum it all up, we made new acquaintances, chatted, played games and had deliciously awesome food! Sophia, your food rocks!!!

Regret.

Oh my god. Coming back so soon to PJ was a complete waste of time and not to mention effort. I was told that I had classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (which is today). The Tuesday class practically wasn't at all. Headed over to college just to attend a tutorial class which was barely one. Wasted all that fuel when the lecturers are fully aware of the world's dwindling fuel resources *Grumbles*. Then on Wednesday, we were taken to Klang to an art museum in which I personally believe was wayyyyy to short a visit. I had little if no time to capture the images I wanted.

And today's classes were...well whaddaya know...CANCELLED. Hell no! I rushed all the way back here just to be completely let down by the schedule prepared by the lecturers. I should have stayed back home and only return today. That way, I could have had more time to explore Penang and find sites suitable for my assignments, spend time in the comfort of my own home and also BE with my parents who happen to be away the entire period I was home. Even a few days would have made a difference. And instead, I hurriedly drove back to PJ just to endure a generous helping of NOTHINGNESS.

The only thing which is keeping me slightly elated is the fact that i'm looking forward to 2 Raya Open houses which i've been kindly invited to. One of which is tomorrow! Saving grace indeed.

Stay tuned for more.

Vegan

Raya week is over and now i'm back in PJ. I was wishing they would never end. It's like you get a taste of the holidays and immediately you want more. But before you know it, your time is up and you're heading back to face your burdening assignments. I guess that's how i'm feeling. I dreadingly came back here. The only things i'm looking forward to are the Raya open houses i've been invited to! Oh, glorious food!

Speaking of food, once again it's the nine emperor gods celebration thing and today's the final day. Ergo, i'm going vegetarian today. I can't really seem to find those vegetarian make-shift stalls like in Penang. They are not rampant here and the only thing I can find are vegetarian restaurants. Air conditioned, proper tables, proper table setting and etc. They certainly cost alot more but it's okay for me since i'm only having it for a day :)

Yesterday, I went to one of the vege restaurants and since i'm not that familiar with Chinese words and Cantonese, I simply pointed to some dish on the menu to order. When it came, it turned out to be a noodle dish with insane amounts of cilantro and celery. I nearly died.

Randomosity

It's been raining sporadically. But I like the rain. The feel of the cool damp air instead of the heat. I like the rain.

I got a hair cut yesterday. Took half the length off. It feels weird. My head feels naked. I look awkward too. Should I wear a paper bag over my head until it grows out?

I think I should be working on my assignments. I should be working on my assignments. But i'm not. Haven't been productive. Been caught up with all the outings and festivities and meeting up with high school and college buddies. I need to focus. Get the ball rolling. Oil up the engine for round TWO. *Ding ding ding*

I won an Oscar.

I want a real one next time.

Happy Raya guys!
